Purpose of Unit
- To familiarize students with the core concepts of technology and the relationship of those concepts to invention and innovation.
- To create awareness that all parts of a system are interdependent and that a malfunction of one part affects the function and quality of a system as a whole.
- To create awareness that technologies have intended and unintended consequences that can pose ethical, economical, political, or cultural issues.
- To familiarize students with the design process as a creative planning tool.
- To familiarize students with the impact of criteria and constraints on a design.

Engineering Encounters Bridge Designer 2016

Create an small object. No larger than 50mm x 50mm x 50mm. Don't try to fill up that space, but no larger than that. It needs to be something you create, not download. No part of the design can go below the workplane surface. All pieces need to be connected. Highlight all pieces, then click Group. To Download: 1- Click Design, Properties, change name to your name (first and last) 2- Click Design, Download for 3D Printing, Choose .STL option, wait for it to download and then close that window. 3- Log in to your Wake County Email. Create an New email to [email protected]. In the body of the email, tell me what color you want it printed in (again, single color). At the very bottom of the window, click on Attachments. Navigate to your Downloads folder and find the file you just saved (should be YOUR NAME). click open, then Send. REMEMBER: These printers print in single colors.
